The Wall - Roger Waters
Been a long time since I got to come to the coffee house. Everyone should go see Roger Waters do The Wall. Granted, no Gilmour, no Wright... But it was maybe the best concert I have ever seen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5gXjupTM94
Some people call me Maurice SPLAT Pro lifetime, ADK 6 core 3.6Ghz with 32 GB RAM, SSD 1TB system drive, 3 3TB regular drives for samples, recordings and misc. Behringer X Touch, UAD Apollo Quad. 2 UAD2 Quads PCI (i think - inside the box whatever that is), Console 1. More guitars (40??) and synths (hard and soft) than talent. Zendrum!!!

The best Pink Floyd concert I ever saw was in Miami at the Orange Bowl in the pouring rain. Half way thru the sax solo in great gig in the sky the sax man had to pause and dump out all the water. We had seen them the night before and went to see them the next night as well... but there's something about pouring rain that makes everything *memorable*. Good to see you back! best regards, mike

I saw the short show at Knebworth in 1990 as part of a multi-star all day event. Also on the bill were Quo, Plant & Page, Maca, etc. Fantastic. I saw the full Division Bell show at Wembly Stadium (the old one). Best gig I've been to.

The rain lit up the lasers beautifully. Or should that be, the lasers lit up the rain?

Hi, Let's see ... (off memory right now!) Hollywood Bowl 1972 Sports Arena (LA) 1974 Sports Arena (LA) 1976 ?? on date (Wish You Were Here tour) Anaheim Stadium (Dogs Tour) The Wall Movie Premiere in SF in Quad Roger Waters (Portland) 2008 ?? All in all, I had the best ... the Hollywood Bowl concert is still the best Pink Floyd ever had to offer, and they were playing DSOTM already in a version that used Syd Barrett as the priest over The Greatest Gig In The Sky -- for something that I still think is superior to what they ended up with. The original had meaning and made sense. The latter became a famous thing, but in the end, it was not really that important to the whole theme of the whole thing, that originally was about Syd, btw ... he went to the Dark Side of the Moon! The main difference between this version and the original is that Roger decided to get a bit more political than the original was ... and some people don't like it. It is, a chance to see something that defines what is music and what is popular song. This is ... let's call it ... a rock opera and you will never get a chance to see anything else like it in your life. The majority of today's rock music and concert scene is pathetic, poor and boring and most of the music is reduced to garage band mentality ... and we're supposed to buy it. Classical music, other than the really big cities, is totally dead in most of America, and something like this is one of the few chances to see something amazing and far out. I'm just waiting for the DVD ... it will be worth it anyway!
As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

Unfortunately I missed Roger Walters when he played media City in Dubai a couple of years ago. I was at the infamous Pink Floyd Knebworth gig in 1975. Spitfire fly past, power problems, PA cutting out, Rick's organ going out of tune , John Peel ordering the effects guy off the tower (thinking he was a fan), and (apparently) Roy Harper going bananas back stage. - Rock and Roll history!
