The World Needs Bacon...

I'm okay with pictures of meals.

I'm okay with selfies.

Goes w/o saying I'm okay with pictures of cats. Here:

I'm even okay with people relentlessly posting frickin' pictures of their baby (though barely...)

But I think I OD'ed on (mostly clueless) people commenting the news and social issues.

I say bless the CH and all the meaningless drivel!

Bring on the bacon!

    If only...

For a bunch of reasons, we've recently decided to put our own baby project on hold indefinitely. And to be honest, when my wife told me she'd made up her mind, it was a bit of a relief.

On Thanksgiving, there were a bunch of friends with kids and it suddenly hit me that even as a kid, I hated kids because they were too noisy and agitated.

But that's nothing compared to new parents...

I know it's different when its your kids - or so people say. But for the time being, we have tons of other projects.

In other news, we're looking to adopt a 7th cat. :P

It's better this way.  I mean, what the heck would you do if you had a kid and they turned out to be allergic to cats???!

My wife is allergic to cats. But her parents always had cats, so her system somehow learned to tolerate animals.

I've known many people who were allergic to pets, sometimes quite severely because it was coupled w/ asthma, but somehow got better w/ time.

But are you okay with belfies?  Or that there is a device called a belfie stick that sells for $80 to help you take them?

But I think I OD'ed on (mostly clueless) people commenting the news and social issues.

I actually might like it if I could find a spot where well-informed people were commenting on news and social issues.

But - that's about 80% of the reason I don't like Facebook.  90% is because I am too private a person to put my life story online.  20% that I am not interested when other people do it.  Another 85% dislike for their privacy policies.  Maybe 55% because I feel it is basically a cheap substitute for meaningful social interaction.

Obviously that does not add up to 100%.  But why should anyone's dislike of facebook be limited to 100%?

A friend of mine has a cat that's non-allergenic. It is supposedly a cross breed with a particular house-cat sized wild cat, but I don't remember it's name. One web source lists 13 non or hypoallergenic felines.
