I haven't conducted a scientific survey, but it seems to me that this forum contains at least 20% - 40% more Bapu than other forums. I spend my time here in order to get my RDBA (Recommended Daily Bapu Allowance). Oh, and also for the Vitamin Duh!

And a "top-a-the-page" to you too Baps, ol pal. BTW I once played at the American Legion Post #1 with the craziest band I ever was a (short term) member of. Is that what you're referin to?? What's that got to do with the forum software?

My Olpal, The fact that you played American Legion Post # 1 with a crazy band has everything to with the forum software. If you can't see the connection I'm not sure splainin' it will do any good.

The leaders of the "band" were an older couple (probably late 60s), Lou and Argie (yes, Argie) Austin. Lou played trumpet and featured himself to be Harry James. Played, dressed (sky blue crushed velvet tuxedo) and drank just like him. Argie probably was...well maybe...it's possible...something of a looker in her youth. She was about 4 foot 10 and half of that were her breasts. She was the featured although no sane person would ever describe her as the singer and she wore a buffant stacked up hairdo the size of a standard poodle. In fact by the third set I was usually martinied up enough to be hallucinating that it was howling at me from across the stage...but it was only Argie "singing". She also wore full length sequined ball gowns with ( I kid you not) elbow length white gloves. Every night. In an American Legion Post. Since their thirty something son could not play drums at all he was....natch, the drummer. I played the C3 organ that belonged to the Post and my friend Ed (no relation to you...ha, ha) played...that's right...bass! I'm starting to see what you mean by connections now, ol pal. We played the most dreadful set lists possible. We would start out the night with "Feelings" and then find thirty or forty WORSE songs to play after that. But the drinks were free and the pay was phenomenal. We took it for almost 6 months. It has left scars that have not healed to this day. Just like this forum software....hey!!!!!

Ah Grasshopper. You have either learned to look into yourself for the answer or the voices in your head are getting louder. Either way you now see the connection. Live well and prosper. Oooooops wrong show.

Oh yea, I almost forgot...the bands name was The Compatibles. We actually had a "break song" where Argie yowled sang, "we're the compatibles....we're the compatibles...we're gonna take a break...but don't leave for goodness sake...cause we're the compatibles". Wait, I think I just threw up a little in my mouth...aren't memories fun?

bapu Welcome bapu ! Pretty cool huh? I hate to say it but, my version of the forum doesn't actually welcome you bapu - well aside from certain posts in this thread that is, but I don't think that's what you were talking about, unless you also think it's cool that it says welcome to George C. Scott and Grace Slick (but not Amy Winehouse, she isn't welcome here).
In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.
