And - yes, I wrote my first tune when I was 49 - a slow starter I guess.

Hey buddy!! This is a different one from you. It sounds like a Fellini - spaghetti western -- produced by Zappa. You really have blended together a bunch of interesting sounds which (at least for me) develop a ominous and building emotion to the song. The vocals really add a feeling of desperation to this number. As usual I have to admire your phrasing and touch on the guitar work. This is my 3rd listen and each time I like it more. Very cool song indeed!!! Freddy J

I have to agree with Freddy. I really like this in a Bohemian way. I think it's very original and clever, especially for your first recording. Which version of Sonar did you use on this? I know that Sonar was getting pretty sophisticated by 2002.

Hi Freddy - good to see you - hi Lynn. When I did this I was only partially using using Cakewalk. At that time I was primarily using a Roland VS1680 which I had synced to Cakewalk 8 - that was before Sonar. I think what I did was to record the main audio tracks on the 1680 and did the drums using Cakewalk. Thanks for taking a listen.

I like the tamborine :-) The song is "interesting..." Difficult to classify? Which is not necessarily a bad thing. Is that a snare drum, or a .44 magnum? I like the bass too.

Really interesting tune Mark. I really enjoyed the subtle noodling, the vocals kind of reminded me of the Stones in the 70's. Funky and enjoyable.

Thanks all. The drums were an fxpansion program - preBFD - it was called DR007 and you didn't have much control over the individual sounds. The snare was a wood block - maybe I it didn't work. Thanks again.

experi-mental country.... interesting.... not bad actually.... most of the early songs I wrote as a teenage have (mercifully...indeed) been long forgotten.

trippy. reminds me of something off Zappa's Joe's Garage. an eclectic pastiche of noble weirdness. dig it.

So that bowl I saw you enjoying the other day? Well, granted it was cherrios, but still, you were enjoying a bowl? And at the "exact moment" that I asked what time is it? Your clock went "BONG!" Coincidence? I don't think so...
