The green bandwagon

My local Whole Foods is selling Christmas trees out front. They have a big sign up saying "For every tree we sell, we will plant a new one." Excuse me but isn't that just like saying "for every can of beans we sell, we will order another"?

I mean they grow the frigging things to sell them. And when they've sold them they're gonna need more, right?

Maybe the Half Foods store is only planting one for every two they sell?

Got to love the Millennials mentality, Sharke.  Where are they tying these trees to on their Prius? But the same trees they plant are producing the nasty C02 they abhor.

I guess this is the store which has a sign up in the bakery section saying "Our bread slicer slices both organic and non-organic bread. If you are concerned about the organic integrity of your bread then please slice at home." I mean that suggests to me that someone has actually kicked up a stink in the past about non-organic bread going through the slicer. And I can just imagine who. I bet they had long dangly earrings with feathers on them.

Actually, I think it was VEGAN gender neutral gingerbread people that I saw at a local Whole Foods Store.  You know there are X and Y chromosomes.  No matter who or what you think you are, you're still a product of your genes and biology, no?  Or will that be changeable with CRISPR?  We'll all become david boweiesque space oddities.

Thank you... I needed a good laugh!  Most people say they plant three for everyone they cut. Just ONE??? I'd complain if I were you and I'd ask for a picture of them planting it. Ask them where exactly do they plant it.

You know paper companies along the gulf coast harvest and replant thousands of acres of pines. They don't use wood from the rainforest to make cardboard or paper... amazing what people think. You know in the 1800s most of the USA was clear cut. You'd be hard pressed to find original growth wood east of well, anywhere. I guess there are the redwoods and a few old live oaks in south GA and north FL but I know that around here there weren't any trees, it was all farm land until probably the 30s when Roosevelt confiscated lands from people who didn't have money for taxes then paid people to plant trees. We were burning coal and wood to power everything too and it wasn't so bad. I'm still convinced that ozone air pollution is completely related to nuclear testing and nuclear power in general. No other way I know of for ozone to get into the lower atmosphere.
Sorry... didn't mean to ramble.

I asked a clerk for an organic rock and his head exploded. Not wanting to make a scene, I just called out, "Compost on aisle 3," and stepped over the larger bits.

As I said elsewhere, everything within the simulacrum is FAKE.  That's our post modern condition:  the truth is waiting to be DIScovered.  Implicitly, that means that the truth is covered.  Truth, like money trickles down.  I envy all those poly tickians and army generals who know the truth.  I don't envy their level of responsibility.
