The joy of writing intentionally bad tunes

My brother and I have been trading intentionally bad, off-color,
politically incorrect songs for some time now ... we've developed
the following protocol:

1. You have to play an instrument that you don't know how to play.
2. You have to use one broken piece of equipment.
3. You must make at least one serious music theory "mistake"
4. Topic should have one of the following "off" attributes:
off-center, off-color, offensive ....
preferably all-three.

The results have been pretty funny ...

anybody else do this sort of thing for amusement?

jeff

ps: the reason i posted this is to see if it might be interest
in a songs contest in this vein.

[ -- edit -- ]
pps: .. since i violated protocol .. i'll post an example:
1. i'm playing guitar .. the lead is a synth and bad.
2. i used a mic that i had dropped and broken that has this totally
weird way it saturates.
i hope 3 & 4 are obvious...

Gee wiz, you're revealing my standard bag of tricks I use on all my tunes!

This does sound like an amusing idea. The problem for me is, I can't help myself, I'd want to make it the best little piece of crappy music I could (see other post).

If we ever all met in the real world we would definitey have to give a whirl.

ps: this is just my oppinion, I really like to hear what comes out. I know! If you need reviewers, I could do that!

Sounds like you just copied the Ashlee Simpson school of songwriting and performing

Well, if I can bypass protocol #2, I'll just submit my existing material.

I think I already have at least two songs ready for this contest

I'm adding this reply to the message in front, hopefully not to bump this up again. Point taken. But if there is a contest, I might be interested....

Don't mean to point out the obvious, but these coffeehouse style posts do knock some songs down a few rungs, while other songs get knocked off this hugely popular primary first page alltogether.

Maybe we should bring this stuff up on the other side of the fence...

Most excellent example of a really great bad song. I've got one myself called "Earthworms". I wrote back in the late 90's when Nirvana was big. If I could find someone with a TASCAM MKII 8 track cassette recorder(the motor is broke in mine) I could send it to them, they could mix it down and mp3 it back to me and I would pay so that you could hear what I think is one of my really great bad songs. BTW, I'm still laughing out loud.

    This is great!
There used to be this band who played the outro on a comedy show 'French & Saunders' here in the UK called Raw Sex........this sounds just like the songs they used to play with the typical, (dare I say it) ,home keyboard drum beats!!

Definitly brought a smile to my face!

If it aint broke, don't fix it!!

Jeff, i'd like to add one more thing to the list if I may:

You must play so badly; that people will want to spank your hands.
