I have been able to consistently reproduce the behavior I'm talking about. I created a test project with 24 tracks and 8 buses. Every three tracks routes to a different bus (ie. tracks 1-3 route to bus A, tracks 4-5 route to bus B, etc.). Each track has a different effect on it. I did all this to emulate a "typical" project I might be working on. In the following video: http://www.thisguysgood.com/jumpyconsole.avi (quality is not the greatest but it shows exactly what's going on). I'm making edits to track 24. Then I make some edits to bus D. Then I scroll in the track window to track 5 and prepare to open the effect there. Notice how the track window will jump and when I release the mouse button the effect from track 5 gets transferred to track 8.

Just had this happen to me a few times w/in the last couple of minutes. Effect transfer and all. There really has got to be a better way to implement this.

Yep confirmed on my end as well with this. What you guys are seeing in console view was what was happening to me in edit view. That jump thing was driving me crazy. It seems they fixed the track/edit view with the latest patch though because it hasn't done it to me there...but it still exists in console view. -Danny

Still doing it to us here as well with the 'quick fix' installed. Dan, I cant tell you how thrilled I was to hear that you are indeed looking for a solution to this one! I realize that these are the hardest bugs to track down because of their inconsistancy but a life saver to us that use the app in a production environment! FWIW, it is this kind of user base interaction that makes Sonar the market leader that it is. Much appreciated!

Just to add that I'm seeing exactly the same thing here. You really have to have your wits about you to make sure you're not editing the wrong track!

I've made it a habit to click on the bottom of the track or anywhere where it won't make changes. You get tired of trying to figure out what the heck happened because a plug moved to a different track without realizing it.

I wonder how much ( if any) of these issues are video card specific? In one of our boxes we have an Nvidia 8600gs fanless and in another we have an 8400gs fanless and even with the most current drivers, the issue persists. Yet, with the earlier versions of X1, no problems with the same video card setup. Possible conflict with something in the newer version of each X1 update and the existing drivers? Yeah, in an 8 hour day, chasing the console tracks around is a pretty major pain.

This sounds similar to an issue I reported back in about December 2010 CWBRN-3652 with the original X1 release so it may not be something introduced in the current version.

ducatibruce2, Hmmm? So you experienced this issue of track jumping/re-ordering in the original release? Was this specific to just the Track View or Console View or both at the time?? If so, then this is a pre-existing condition that just keeps slipping through the cracks untill the right combination of hardware/software aggravates it enough to surface. I realise this is the hardest type of bug to fix, intermitant, but would love it if they do!!!! We jumped back to X1c from expanded and hav'nt had the problem. Must be something in Expanded that aggravates the issue enough to surface. Would love to know how many people experience this problem in other versions besides X1c-Expanded??
