The latest on WiFi Sonar control via iPad
I've been reading back through the threads about iPad apps that can control Sonar via WiFi. eyoControl, AC7, etc. I was about to pull the trigger on one in particular (DAW Control HD), but then read a "buyer-beware" post about it that pointed out it wasn't compatible with the latest iPad iOS. I checked it out in the app store and saw that it hadn't been updated in six years! Ancient. Doing further research in the app store and on various developer sites, it seems like none of the apps mentioned have been updated/improved in many years. Which begs the question: will any of them work with an iPad I bought last year that is running the latest iOS? And what about Windows 10? Every time it updates it seems to send a ripple of issues that appear on the forum. If the lights are out in no one's at home on these iPad control surfaces, seems like that might be a breakage ready to happen. Would really appreciate hearing about any current WiFi-based control surfaces for a recent iPad/iOS that are working well. Thanks so much, this form is invaluable! Billy

I have used DAW Control without problems in the past. It's a bit of a process setting up the MIDI over wifi bit, but once that was in place things worked fine. I used in mainly with Studio One 2 and FLS, and haven't actually used with CbB. I may also add that it is a while since I used it last, but I see on the apps home page that it is prepared for 64 bit (iOS 11) ... and seems to be updated on a regular basis.https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/daw-control/id574125383?mt=8

While not on an iPad, I use TouchOSC on an iPhone 7 with the latest iOS. This is over WIFI. Works very well and can be edited to control whatever you want. It also works well with Cubase 9.5.
CbB latest incarnation, Focusrite Scarlett (2nd generation), WIN10 1809 build, , MCU pro , Yamaha Motif classic 6 , focusrite ASA one

Thanks for the replies. For future reference, I asked the developer of eyoControl if the app was still being supported and he said it’s no longer under development and could offer no guarantees. So, there you go on that one.

TouchOSC is a great app - especially as you can pick up a new Android tablet for around £40.

Took a look at TouchOSC. Does it require programming skill? The GUI doesn’t look typical in terms of visual representations of DAW faders, knobs, transport controls, etc. Is it possible to program one of the controllers to perform the CTRL-Z function (undo)?
