Another atmospheric impact similar to the one that happened in Russia in 1908 known as the Tunguska Event. Although additionally small fragments of this recent events were seen falling from the sky. Reports of casualties for this Chelyabinsk Event are starting to come through on news sites. Something about a school and officies, windows blown out. People said it felt/sounded like an earthquake and very loud thunder at the same time.

They say about 100 minor injuries at this time. Could have been a lot worse, although these casualty reports have a habit of changing substantially as time goes on!

Well - than we can add you to the list of injured too... But I am sorry. I should have warned. I did not realize someone would watch with volume turned up that high. I hope the damage was not that big...

I hope the damage was not that big... Heh - I had turned up the volume earlier in the day to listen to something that was recorded low and forgot to turn it back to something normal. Then I made the second mistake of watching it in the middle of the night - I probably woke the whole house up! LOL!

I just read that lots of Russians are taking the opportunity to smash their own windows in the hope of fraudulently receiving compensation to cover the cost of windows broken by the meteor strike. GENIUSES!

Meh - I'm sure Obama will accuse the meteor of "acting stupidly" and invite it to a beer summit at the White House.

News reports 1000 injuries in Russia due to that meteor streaking by which broke the sound barrier and broke out the windows. Everyone felt a rumble, rushed to the windows to look out, and then the big boom broke out the windows. Glass shards caused injuries. I wonder how many needed fresh underwear.....

I wonder what kind of SPL it took to bend those metal window frames like that. I've heard little ones before. They sounded like musket balls zipping through the air. That was scary enough.
