The most lucrative song ever!!!

"To think that all of this poured forth from a goofy, three-chord song—a mere 208 words, written about being lazy and getting drunk."

Ya..... I have played that song more times than I care to recall... including the 4th verse which many people have never heard.

I'd known that the traditional "Happy Birthday" song was copyrighted, but I had no idea that it generates $2M a year in reveue! I do know that I am delinquent in my royalty payments for that one.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I got so sick of playing that, I took it out of my lyric binder.

After a while, I started to cringe when someone would ask for it - that & some others.

But good for ole Jimmy though!

I do like a success story.

I do still play 'Come Monday' of his occasionally though.
