The official "X2 BUG" thread
Apparently I was "trolling" Ryan Munnis by asking him when the X2b update is coming out. He told me to make a thread about it. Well, considering I've barely used X2 yet, I thought I'd make it easy for Mr. Munnis by making a thread where EVERYONE who HAS had issues can discuss their X2 bugs and he can help each and every one of you to resolve them. So, what bugs are you experiencing? Go....

If that wasn't your intention then I apologize. However it certainly felt like it given how many people simply glossed over my multiple responses in the same thread. Given the tone of this thread, it certainly feels like a point is trying to be proven versus genuinely trying to help one another, which is what I'd prefer to do. We don't need master lists of "bug" threads. We have a system in place for getting support and reporting issues. See the sticky at the top of the forum. What is helpful on the forum is making unique threads for issues you may encounter. The forum is meant for helping one another, not trying to prove points to Cakewalk staff who already have a legitimate systems in place for Customer Service, Technical Support, and bug tracking.

This might be a useful thread if posters can differentiate between bugs and things just not working the way they want them to. A test of this is if the poster can find in the manual where it says a feature works one way but does not, then it is a bug. Possibly things that crash might be appropriate (assuming that it is a Cakewalk problem and not from a third party). Anything else should be clearly labeled as a request for a functional change. While Cakewalk does have a professional grade bug tracking system, it does not provide a sense of the impact of a problem like something here can. There also needs to be a way to get information out on how to work around a 'bug.' Glen

I understand users wanting to dig in and document things and help one another out, etc. I get it. I've read countless items regarding bug tracking, suggestions, etc. I helped design and program the system we currently have in place from scratch. I understand there is always room for improvement. What I don't get is creating a new thread after I locked the original one and then calling me out by name. What I don't understand are people who refuse to use the systems have in place that we have proved time and time again are very effective systems for helping customers, and improving the overall end product. What I asked the OP to do was start threads about issues he or she may encounter, not start another generic thread about "bugs". Historically, threads of this nature are never useful information for the community and the company. They turn into arguments every single time. Sorry guys, I'd just prefer to have the other types of interactions we've been having which have an absolute pleasure this weekend. I have no problem with people pointing out bugs when they come up. I have no problem saying the words "yes, that is a bug, let's try to get it fixed." Creating threads for the sake of talking about bugs is the wrong focus of this community and we need to move on from it. We should be sharing music and techniques and helping one another. Leave documenting and tracking bugs to us. If you want to document and test bugs, consider joining our beta team. http://www.cakewalk.com/beta/forms/

Ryan, no I wasn't trying to be a "troll" and I don't really appreciate that, but you apologized and I know you guys have been taking a beating, so no hard feelings. My point was this: there seem to be a lot of people who are reporting bugs and other whacky things happening with X2. I just think this group of people should be addressed.... it seems like a communication breakdown between you guys and these people. Not saying it's your fault, just saying.... it's there. My own personal experience: Been running X1 for a year and a half.... ROCK SOLID. Just upgraded to X2 a few weeks ago, haven't had a chance to record anything yet. Hoping it's as good as X1.

Ouch. X2 has not been updated since December 2012, and we can officially say X2b will not happen. At least your X2 update will get you X3 for a little cheaper now.

It has been stated repeatedly that there will not be an X2b....
I think that should have ended the topic...

I agree with Ryan. And, where are these many threads complaining bout bugs? I have seen a few users post issues and Cakes staff has helped to duplicate the issue and commit to fixing it. The reporting users also used the fault reporter to report their issues. My approach when I have and issue is to check the forum to see if anyone else has. If not then post a thread with the issue and see if others are able to duplicate. Either way I can report the issue and try to describe the situation as best I can in the fault reporter with a recipe to expose the issue.
