The one song you could go the rest of you life...

...and not hear again, and be perfectly happy.

Me: Yellow Submarine

I painfully had to sit through it at a Ringo Starr and His All Star Band show one night. I should have just gone to the loo.

There's only one..the swirling piano, and the first line 'first I was afraid, I was petrified..' makes me dive for the off switch.

The CHB has not now or ever used the Manilow Model/Method Manual for songwriting.

    (or do they?)

I beg to differ. Some of the finest songwriting in pop music, stellar singing and harmonies to match. Plus, the guitar solo at the end of Goodbye to Love was an early inspiration to me.

wish i could remember exactly the joke
but musician dies, goes to hell.devil says since your a  musician you join the band, he goes into a room, full of any kind of instrument amp, etx. in the room are Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Joplin, all the heavyweights, there is a drum set with no drummer..all teh musicians get on their instruments and wait for the drummer.
the dead musician asks how can this be hell and tourture? any gear i want, jamming with all the greatest rock and rollers?
all of a sudden a door opens, Karen Carpenter comes in the room, gets behind drum set and says ,
"all right guys from the top;; and starts singing WHY DO BIRDS SUDDENLY APPEAR

    Roxanne by The Police.

Can't stand the vocals, the arrangement sounds very juddery, and that pseudo-reggae feel sounds so contrived.
But I am aware that I am pretty much on my own on this one!

Jeff Becks Hi Ho Silver Lining gets a mention too. Purely because when I was 16 years old, I was at a party
and this guy played it over and over and over and over and over....for just under an hour

CuBase, Ableton, Steinberg UR-22 MKII, i7-4790K 4.00 Ghz, 32Gb Corsair Vengeance Pro RAM, Windows 10.
