The pizza oven effect

Not to complain.  I really have nothing to complain about.  I am however, a little annoyed that our ac isn't working...    Florida concrete block building codes create what I have affectionately dubbed, "the pizza oven effect."   this is when, in a subtropical climate where a mid-September day is still well above 95 degrees Fahrenheit, your place becomes akin to living in a pizza oven.
 
its unbelievable..   I probably wouldn't even care except I grew up in New England and by nature am used to a more cool, temperate environment.

    Sure but I'm gonna assume that building code is why you at least have an intact "oven" to return to.
