Wow my first Walkman was an Alba. I was only 7 and can't remember much about if except that the box had a large breasted woman on it.

i owned one of the very first Sony Walkmans...a TPS-L2 this one:  http://www.minimallyminimal.com/blog/sony-walkman-tps-l2 it had extraordinarily good sound.. better, or as good as, any of my sound tech guys' best rack mount cassette players... tascam, aiwa, whatever... it truly was b@d @ss. i upgraded the headphones to these:  Koss Pro4AA early japanese ad:

I still have my Pioneer SE-405 headphones from the 70's and still in the original box (they even look new as well!).

I had one. All these EQ's were ... were volume controls... You would put them all up to increase the volume. Cassette playback most of the time in these cheap things hardly had much treble and EQ didn't do much.
