hey makke, thanks for listening, glad you dig it it DOES have a vocal line in it, so technically, it's not an instrumental!

Awesome! Very much in that Jeff Beck Blow-by-Blow/Wired vein, which I can think of no higher praise in guitarland.

drums sound...well rubbish tbh. like a halfway house between acoustic and electronic. everything else is of course superb. you get such a good tone on the guitars.

wow, dropping jbeck's name.... he was one of my main influences, early on, so that insight is spot on. tho, with this one in particular, i was just trying to get jiggy with it.

heheh, rubbish, i'll take that. of course, the sound was chosen on purpose... lo fi, kinda street beat, exactly as you describe.. because the song that follows it, has big meaty drums, so as an album opener, it sorta brings the listener in a bit, they don't get to adjust before the 1st 'real' song comes on, and does the b!tch slap! LOL these guitars on THIS particular song, were different than all the rest.. i had in house at the time, a small Peavey joe Satriani 5w tube amp, called the Mini Colossal, which i know he used to record a bunch of tracks on an album of his.... it had a direct box/cab filter built into it, with a XLR out.... i used THAT to capture these guitar tones.... and found i really did dig it. amp used: peavey jsx mini colossal, run direct out: guitar used: vintage white usacg strat with BL pickups:

Great song and arrangement. It sounds as if you have put some thought into what you are creating. Outstanding playing as usual. What are you using on the bass?

hi freddie! this was one of my most favorite songs to play bass on.... for the life of me, i cannot remember, if i used my little shortscale ibanez mikro bass, or used my full length Carvin LB70....thru a simple sansamp bass DI. probably the carvin. this was my channeling stevie wonder, i believe....

Yup, that be some good stuff. I don't know that I would have thought of it myself, but I am also getting a bit of Blow By Blow vibe. Some funky vibe happening underneath with some nicely placed bits at the outside, and I just love the Strat tones on this one.

glad you dig it steve..... the strat tones was what i was after as far as guitar parts go, when i recorded this, i had only had the 'new' USA custom strat re-built for a while, and this was one of the first things i did with it.... it has those bill lawrence pickups in it, that's the secret. that, and holding your lip right, whilst playing.
