I'm guessing the background of the popup window described here:

Ahh thank you. I knew it wasn't the extension from the collapsed view.  I'd forgotten the tool bar floats, I'm so wrapped up in the control bar mods.

Thank you for the "heads up" about this component. I was not using the HUD so did not recognize the term.

How about the event draw button on lower right? How or when does that become activated (blue) on the HUD to show as it appears in the control bar?

They should display simultaneously. I think the HUD actually uses the same buttons as the CB.

Yeah, just the share the menu button on the left with the track view. I can live with that.

On my control bar it is blue and on my hud it is grey. I expected them to be the same resource and set to the same state. I wonder what I am missing?

Do you mean the menu bar

The duration menu bar that shows in the bottom right is set from - Control Bar.Menu Button. Although it's under the main control bar options, it only affects the tool bar. The other Menu options with it, wide, medium and narrow, are used more.

On the Hud, thre is an addition menu bar on the bottom left. depending on where you click the shortcut T .Click from track view and it appears, click from console and it's doesn't. So the HUD uses the Track view.Track Pane.Menu Button option. I guess as it's tied to the track and not the control bar.
