Theme editor questions...

Pardon if these have been answered and I missed it. 1. When I save a theme how do you get the preview image when you go to select the theme in the main software, all I get is blank white. 2. The other thing I'm confused about is the transport button state images. There are 5 different squares in the .png and from what I can figure out they represent
1 = NORMAL
2 = PRESS
3= HOVER
4= ON
What state does the 5th square represent? Thanks for your help.

The consensus seems to be that the fifth button is either a) unused, b) unavailable, or c) no content loaded.

In order to preview a theme, save all work to that point and open it in Sonar. Make sure to change to another theme in Sonar before you go back to work in Theme Editor or you won't be able to save at that point (you won't lose your work, but will have to change out of your theme in Sonar later before saving.)

You see it mostly when you turn on Sonar and haven't loaded a project. All the control bar buttons are then in that state.

Answer to question Number 1: in the Theme Editor click on the Properties button in the ribbon (Top Section where the Commands are). That will open the properties of your theme and there's an option to select a preview image of your theme (first, you'd have to take a snapshot of your theme in Sonar and save the image somewhere where you can find it later), then click on browse, find your image and that's it. I used the snipping tool for my pic, but you can do print screen or whatever you use to take snapshots of your screen.

I'm not sure, ping, but I think he wanted to preview it while working on it. I could be wrong, however.

Button states 101

5 stage buttons:
1) OFF
2) Press (clicked)
3) Hover (glowing)
4) ON
5) Dead / Inoperable / Not available (all buttons are in this state when no project is loaded)

In X1 thru X3 there were 1 stage, 2 stage, 4 stage, 5 stage, 7 stage, & 8 stage buttons. 5 being the most common.

I completey overhauled my control bar, not just recoloured it, but created all the buttons and backgrounds from scratch. When it loaded in that state without any projects loaded it realy stood out to me. Not only that, I kind of liked it, and wondered if I should make my new design darker.

I'm pretty sure that's what he was asking, because I was wondering the same thing for a few days. That's why he says, "when you go to select the theme in the main software, all I get is blank white." Also, he marked my post as helpful.

What I meant was when you are in the main splat interface and go to the theme selector I was getting a blank preview of the theme because I assumed incorrectly that when you saved a modified theme that the software created a preview image for you. I didn't realize you had to create it yourself.

Exactly, you have to select an image to display as the preview in the Theme Editor properties. Otherwise, it displays nothing, just a blank image. That's also where you give a description of your theme and fill in who the author is.
