Themes in contemporary literature...
the CH: A careful reading of recent of developments in the CH indicate a confluence of important themes such as the intervention of corporate and commercial interests co-opting the freedom of self expression fundamental to the arts, man's struggle against aging and the philosophical question of where missing time goes, and the meaninglessness of a world in which post count matters not, yet each and every post is dutifully counted and displayed for all to see. The constant use of "™" is clearly meant to symbolically convey the fact that what was once a place where free expression and independent ideas could be conveyed has now been overtaken by the rules of the corporate world. We are led to believe that what once was a place where creativity flourished and stream-of-consciousness street poetry ruled the day has been replaced by content carefully screened by test audiences, reviewed by lawyers and trademarked or copyrighted all for the express benefit of The Buoy, Ltd. And the constant referencing of "moobs" is clearly symbolic of something as well.
In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

drewfx1 And the constant referencing of "moobs" is clearly symbolic of something as well. I was thinking cymbalic when I wrote it. Too bad my meaning was lost in translation™.

What's this? Am poetical whacksing about the content of Coffee House topics and not a single mention of becan? Clearly a Sirius oversight in this reader's opinion!

craigb What's this? Am poetical whacksing about the content of Coffee House topics and not a single mention of becan? Clearly a Sirius oversight in this reader's opinion! That's because there's no literary symbolism in becan - becan is becan and it's perfect and to use it as a mere symbolic literary device would be an insult to the perfection of becan. But on second thought, I suppose you could use becan to represent Heaven, so I guess you're right.

Corporate sponsorship in the CH™ is unfortunate. This shift in focus from the purity of artistic discovery and expression towards crass commercialism reduces us all. (Just like Moob Off ™, the amazing new Retroactivly Sucking Moob Reduction Device for only $399.95, or £2 plus VAT, from The Bouy, Ltd.) Rather than contemplate the wonder, beauty, grace, and complexity of our shared humanity, we find ourselves consumed with mundane pursuits and meaningless trivia. (Can you name all 8,329,754 possible uses for Becan? Then you need the Encyclopedia Becannica! Order yours today for only 72 monthly payments of $995.19, or $7,470 Canadian, from The Bouy, Ltd.) The resulting feelings of despair, loss of ambition, general uselessness, and the occasional visit upstairs are similar to that of a drummer who finds all of his drum heads ripped open. He's reduced to cymbalism. Thanks for coming. Have some Cheese™.
