Thesys keeps getting recorded on the midi track im trying to record onto.

In Sonar X1, Im using Sugarbytes Thesys to playback a bassline midi track. When I do to record another midi track , the Thesys track keeps getting recorded onto the midi track Im trying to record. Even when I dont record anything, if I just hit the record button, Thesys will record onto the midi track im trying to record on. Does anyone have some insight on how I can record a midi track without Thesys being recorded on that track too ?.. It would be gratly appreciated...Thankyou!
