They say the memory is the second thing to go with age...
And I forgot what the first was. This is such a basic question.... I could swear there used to be a way to change trac colors (not only the midi or audio, but the track header and mixer channel strip.). I have searched and searched. The best I can come up with is a color difference on a thin line on the side in the track view and that same thin bar at the bottom of a strip in the console view. Is there a way to make say "all guitar channels red" and "all drum channels purple"... and so on? Thanks

This is only available in the Mercury Theme . . . If you're running the Tungsten theme, it doesn't work to make the entire strip coloured . . . yet ?

HAH!I just had a long and frustrating thread about this. As far as I was able to find out, that strip at the left is it. To make all Audio red, MIDI blue, etc, you can use Ctrl to select the desired multi tracks, hols down Ctrl while clicking that left strip on one of the selected tracks. This will change all selected tracks at once. What i does _not_ do is make that the norm for every project. Even making a template will mean that you still have to fix any new tracks in your next project

Man - too bad. Thanks for the help all. It would be nice to have a way to make the channel strips and the corresponding track headers the colors you want in the same simple fashion of changing colors of a clip. Maybe some day.

Yeah in my thread it was "hinted" ("..not yet anyway" sort of thing ) that this may change.

its easy to do in the Mercury them. Not sure why it isn't in the Tungsten. The darker colors are easier on my eyes.

Hey Maurice . . . (aka Steve Miller ?) If it was easy to program into Tungsten, it would probably be done by now, I've heard rumblings on the forum that it is a future development, but not too sure, merely rumblings. (If memory is the second thing to go with age, then the eyes must be the first ? . . . at least it was for me)
