Well, I've had mine for over a year, and I am very pleased with it.
It is built solid, and the switches and connections are mounted to the faceplate rather than the board.
The original drivers were pretty bad and gave it a bad rap early on. The current drivers(2.9.55) are fine on my W7 desktop.
The four inserts are a rare touch at this price point. Very nice if you have outboard gear.
The built-in powered USB bus was what sold it for me. I have three controllers connected via USB, and one using the MIDI port. Very handy when using the Vista laptop.
I use a lot of soft synths and amp sims, so latency is very important. I generally run it at 128 samples, to give the synths a little room.
I really like the split phantom power. It turns on in pairs.
Noise floor is good.
It's not as well known as the others, but it holds its own.
I'd buy on again in a heartbeat.

I looked at the akai also, but depends on how many ins / outs you want and what sort of money you want to spend.

I also got told to buy the RME, but well yer their drivers are great but it didn't have all the inputs I wanted etc.

I just sold my delta 1010LT , so am looking for something to replace it.. BUT because of NAMM , a lot of new units were brought out e.g. thunderbolt stuff , so I want to wait a bit longer now.

Apparently it does not have a native ASIO driver and someone else is having a nightmare with it see main SONAR forum.

The EIE Pro does have native ASIO drivers. Our friend in the other thread has the base EIE, which appears to be quite a different animal. I hope we can get him up and running.

Oops I missed he had the base one, well we Wookiee's knows we is capable of mistakes and we have no problems with admitting it.

Glad you are happy with your choice they make nice interfaces Focusrite, I know because I have an old Saffire Pro 26

No worries Wookie.
I wasn't fully aware of the differences myself, until that thread.
So while I can endorse the EIE Pro as a top contender in its price range, I have deep reservations about the base EIE.
