MiLaR is a great educational resource .. but don't let its Protools-centric media disuade you from
watching it. the specifics of the session don't matter (honestly).. paying close attention to the DVD material
.. (and i mean stopping it . rewinding . and doing it again) are more important.

the concepts transcend any DAW software.

MiLaR is a great resource, platform independent. Being able to freeze frame and try and read his plugin settings helped me a lot, actually :-)

Of course, if you comb through the Hard Disk Life column Dye ran that inspired MiLaR, you'll find nearly all the usable info without the kind of wonky production that is wrapped around the more "meta" information.

Actually, I'm still wondering if the pro tools sessions included with the dvd can be opened in pro-tools, or is that really besides the point?

I found the production wrapped around the information so pretentiously thick it approached satire. For me, it was unbearable to watch.
