Thinking of purchasing... Need a bit of advise

Hello. Want to buy Guitar Tracks Pro 3. Haredware interface would be with line6 toneport UX1. Has anyone just used their windows based sound system for playback? I don't have seperate soundcard. Just Nvida soundchip installed on the MSI motherboard. I understand for recording playback I will need use headphones. But once the project is recorded, will it playback thru the PC sound system? thanks!!

It should work, but ideally you should invest in a low budget pro line audio device such as the...

    Audiophile 192
    Firewire 1814
    Audiophile 2496
    Delta 44 or 66
    Delta 1010 LT

These cards are all fairly cheap but give you at least some foot in the door in terms of recording quality devices. So that and monitors is what I would get...then start getting mics etc. All depends on your budget and the time you want to put in to research the goods

If your computer has a line input it will record okay. It will play back through your computer's sound system also, however the quality will not be as good as if you had a good soundcard. I agree with montezuma.... get a good soundcard for your computer.

If you are going to get the Tone Port (which basically is a sound card) then get a good pair of monitors and hook them up to the out of the Tone Port for monitoring.
