This impressed me...

Not music related at all...

But I went to a local casino over the weekend that was built new in the last few years. In the multi-level parking garage each space has a light over it. When a car is in the space, a sensor recognizes this and turns the light red. No car, it goes green. So as you drive around you easily can see from long distances where the empty spaces are. Especially helpful when the garage is crowded. Then on top of that, the sensors report to a central monitoring system that updates a display as you enter the garage that keeps track of the number of open spaces on each floor of the garage. If zero, don't bother driving around that floor.

Maybe I am impressed too easily, but I thought this was pretty slick.

Broken pencils are pointless.

Many airports now have that feature as well.  I like it!
