This is a raid - advice needed please!

Working on a new track, think its could be pretty cool once finished but cant help but think the mixing lets it down a bit (especially when compared to other peoples tracks i hear online).

Could anyone please spare a bit of advice/tips to get it on the right track?

Thanks

Matt

To be honest Matt, I wouldn't have a clue how to mix a track like this, but it sounds pretty impressive so far. Quirky stuff, what genre would you call this?

Well I know for sure that it is not classical music lol! :) Think its just an amalgamation of various genre's to be honest. Could probably turn it into an grunge type electro pop type song if i got the structure right! I think the genre will probably be determined by any future vocal parts i put in!

Thanks for having a listen! :)

I liked the various textures coming and going in this song.  It sounds pretty good in my studio.  This could be a big hit on the club circuit.  Overall, nice job.

    Hey Matt
Not my norm listen but that percussion beat just wouldn't let me go.  Love the build up as the song progresses. NICE... how the synths never stay the same making some really nice ear candy. The mix on my end really is good.  Maybe not as loud as some but a full clean nicely balanced mix.  I really enjoyed all 4:16 of this piece.  KUDOS!

Well, thank you both very much! :)

To be honest, I was more expecting "this mix is rubbish, just bin it and give up". You guys have given me some hope lol.

    Thanks again for listening!

This is the closest thing to Dubstep I have yet heard here in the forum. It would need just a tad more syncopation and a few pop hooks thrown in to make it complete. Well done.
