This sent chills down my spine

This is both cool, and compelling at the same time. Watch it, you will not regret it.

    Hi,

Not sure where this is from, but I would not be surprised if this is from "The Wall" and its newer and updated version.

Amon Duul 2 also did 2 satires on Adolf Hitler that are also ... weird and bizarre at the same time. There are two versions of "Deutsche Nepal" the first one in Wolf City and then a falsetoo version of the same in the Utopia album they did with their sister jazz band. And later in "Made in Germany" they did a piece called "La Krautoma" that starts with an interview ... that is ... weird to say the least and cut up ... rather cleverly.

Of all these ... none is more scary and upsetting than the line in Peter Cook and Dudley Moore's original "Bedazzled" ... and it goes like this ... "it only takes two lunatics to sign a peace treaty, that our company for one, would be wiped out!" ... and in the end, this industrial/commercial madness/topof thepops is just about that control and greed, isn't it?

I guess it's easy for me to be anti this so much, being born in Europe and a son of WW2 and its events. The stories I can tell you, are nothing compared to anything here on this board, and the ugliness that many of those things can provide. This place called The Coffee House is heaven by comparison!

I can't believe a film buff such as yourself wouldn't know this Pedro..it's from 'The Great Dictator', and that's Charlie Chaplin. The music is by Hans Zimmer.

    It works beautifully together.

Not newer than The Wall then, about the same age?...

We used that sample of Charlie on an intro, or at least a part of the speech, on our newly finished album. I can listen to that speech over and over.

We ended up messing it up a bit. Dunno what the copyright issues might be but we decided to obscure it quite a bit.Still a great effect but it's best on its own.

Can't listen to that where I am now but look forward to check it out when I get home

Some of us do listen, Yorolpal. Some of us do. Not all of us, not even most, but hopefully enough. Hopefully enough. Pedro, you were partially correct in that there is a 2 or 3 second scene from "The Wall" within the visuals (and Dr. Who hehehe).

    Thanks for that, Shad.

I really love that music...I think I could listen to it several times a day and not get tired of it.  (and I know it's not all about the music, but that's what I felt like commenting on now.)  :)

I wholeheartedly agree Janet. It was the music and added visuals as much as, if not more than, the speech itself that sent the chills down my spine.

That piece comes up on Rhapsody now and then but right now I can't remember which station it is  (haven't listened enough lately).  But no matter...it was great to hear it here again.
