Threads getting moved...

I wonder, if I asked a (genuine) question about SONAR 8 here in the Coffee House - do you think it would get moved to the SONAR forum

we should come up with a code name. then it will be a true test. something like "doppler". then a mod will come along and say, "hey, this has nothing to do with coffee!" and move it to the sonar forum...

But Strummy, you must realise the Coffee House is the metaphorical U bend of the Cakewalk forums, the only move from here is down the soil pipe and into the sewer...

So quit whining and start shovelling like the rest of us stuck down here...

Wow - this is seriously spooky stuff Jon - take a look at my current avatar and then check out this tracklist from the album I borrowed it from:

Edit - Down In The Sewer - great track, neat bass.

what if the thread started about sonar, but then someone asked opinions on a UAD-1 and THEN - someone wrote a song about it and posted a link in the thread? would an inescapable vortex be created, sucking in all threads and spitting them out randomly into the producer forum? we should be careful here.

What an album, what a band. One of the most under rated, most ignored ever. I'm a huge, huge fan. First saw them as a spotty 13 year old in '78 and just about every year since. November last year on their UK tour was the last time. Still performing great new music as well as the old classics.

I couldn't agree with you more Karl - they got a lot of bad press musically, which I felt was completely unjustified. I bought every album up to and including Feline - I also got Norfolk Coast recently, good stuff.

Rattus is definitely in my Top 5 of all time - it still sounds fresh and menacing all these years later. I've actually got four versions of it - the original picture sleeve LP, the re-issue 'Fame' series LP, the first CD release and the later re-mastered/bonus track CD!

I also saw them in '78 at the Malvern Winter Gardens, they were on the road promoting the upcoming release of Black And White - still one of the best bands I've ever seen live.

I must admit I thought most of their early stuff was far better than recent stuff, but I think they got a new lease of life with Norfolk Coast. They're last album, Suite XVI is IMHO even better and one track in particular, called Relentless is in my top 10 all time favourite Stranglers songs. It's got that old edge and superb melody that so much of their early stuff had. Well worth a listen. HERE

On a slightly different topic...can this forum change the huge flashing neon sign message that appears when you edit a spelling mistake in a post or something? Give a fella a minute at least to edit his post without stamping it with that gigantic Message edited by montezuma -- 1/25/2009 7:44:13 AM. Many other forums give you 5 minutes or something to make small changes. This forum is ruthless. You make a spelling error and everyone is gonna know you had to go back in and change something...like walking around in public after you pissed your pants.

    Edit: spelling

I often wake up with a dark patch on my trousers and think oh yeah that's right, I drank a bottle of gin again last night, all's well.

    Just joking
