Three Good Reasons

This started off with me just screwing around with a cover and grew into what it is.

Now I'm considering retracking the lead guitar and having my bud Brian Damage redo the lead vocal ('cause he's way better than me).

Boogie plays:

DR-008/DFH1
Bass
Acoustic and electric guitars
Vocals

I wish I'd written it; I'd be a zillionaire if I could write songs like this!

THREE GOOD REASONS

It sounds a bit hollow to me in the center. I love the guitar solo. If it wasn't a Gretsch you did a good job of faking it.

I like it on the whole.

Thanks Mod (or is it Mr. Bod?) I was actually trying to do a good job of faking a Telecaster with my ... Telecaster.

When you say "hollow in the center", do you mean in the center of the stereo field or in the midrange frequ's?

Nice clean production. I think the vocals are good for this style, but I see you're having them re-done. On the final, I think the relative level on the vox can come up and maybe a more distict slapback (to go full retro). What do you think about having the vocal double be offset to the left a little? Everything else sounds about right. Nice toe tapper.

Good mix and production. Wondering it it might be a little heavy on the bottom, basswize. I am listening on bass heavy headphones so maybe not. Enjoyed it a lot. I don't remember the tempo of the original. This sounded a little slow, it may be my imagination there, again because bass is heavy may sound slower?

Overall I think it's fine, I wouldn't change the vox or leads. The above comments are just nit picks and may be off base because of my headphones.

faking a Telecaster with my ... Telecaster.

Nice pick'n and really fun song. I would like to hear your tele thru this amp. I heard Brad Paisley play his tele thru this amp set up and it was mind blowing.

    Keep post'n and rock'n. Darryl

dude, that is killer! great guitar tones and playing, and excellent mix. i would leave the vocals as is. They fit the song perfect.

PS - Modbod, you're slipping. I knew right away that was a Tele! : )

    keep rocking!
