Time Travel

Hi,

I knocked this up on the weekend, no lyrics yet and the title is not final but just thought I would put it up and get some ideas on how to improve it. Only using a Roland SD50 for instruments, would be nice to have a real guitar.

Hi Andrew, I do like this type of music and it seems to fit the video really well. I think the toughest thing to get right with electronic music is the drums. I thought the snare sound didn't quite work all the time, although I'm not sure what it was that didn't sound right. Maybe it was a little too bright and the same all the way through. Just a thought.
Very nice piece though, I'll be interested to hear vocals if you put them up.

This is a nice piece of music that works well with the video.  I find it somewhat difficult to comment on because the overall volume is very low compared to most of the songs on this forum.  This is something that can easily be corrected in the mastering stage.  What I could hear, maybe the drums do need some attention because they seemed to stick out from the music rather than blend in.  All this needs are a few tweaks and you'll be in the ballpark.

    All the best,
    Lynn

Interesting it sound quite well here and the snippets of film seemed to go with the tune, sorry here comes the however.  However it needs a little bit of something which only you know what that is.

I liked this and where the heck do you get video clips like this? The drums do stick out a bit, but then I like big drums anyway. I think if you could bring down or bass up the snare a bit it would work out better, but that is a choice you have to make. Overall though it sounds good and goes with the video well, just the drum (Snare pops) aren't working out well for me. Good sound on everything else and the mix is tight. Nice music video.

Awesome, I had turned a lot of the instruments down because they seemed to boom a bit when I played through speakers, but were fine with headphones. Could have been the eq on my sound system. I will play with it a bit more and hopefully come up with some lyrics.

The video clips are from all over youtube, I'm a bit of a SciFi nut and knew where to find what I wanted pretty quickly. There is some time lapse of cloud that I took myself, another hobby of mine is weather observations and I run a Facebook page on Australian Weather, mainly for the tropics.

Nice groove, Andrew. Snare a little too far forward in the mix as already mentioned. Good timbre choices. I like it. Have seen the original Time Machine movie many times.
