Time stretch pulls vocals out of time??

Hey guys,
 
I've been doing a lot of remixes recently, and so have been timestretching clips to new bpm's, however I've found that sometimes they're pulled somewhat out of time in certain places.

Is this anything to do with the transient detect???

What's the best way to time stretch a clip (either by raising or decreasing the tempo) without effecting the timing/rhythm???

    - Select all the audio clips.
    - Open the Audiosnap palette (shotcut A).
    - Choose Auto-stretch in the mode drop-down to the right of Clip Follows Project in the AS palette, and then click the Clip Follows     Project button.

    - Nothing will happen immediately, except maybe a re-draw of the waveforms, but as you start making tempo changes, the audio clips will follow them.

    - Since the M:B:T ruler is the fixed visual time reference in SONAR, and the Now time cursor speed changes with tempo, you still won't see anything happening, but audio will audibly follow tempo changes along with any MIDI, which follows inherently.

    If you just want to stretch a clip with one operation, there is the slip-stretch method or the Process > Length and Process > Fit to Time commands.

    slip-stretch:
    1.     Select the Smart tool in the Control Bar.
    2. Hold down the CTRL key, move the mouse pointer over the end of the clip until the cursor changes into the slip-stretch icon , then drag the end of the clip to the desired position. The clip is stretched and displays the stretch amount in the clip header (percentage of original duration).

    The process-> ... methods open dialogs to let you change the clip lengths.

    These two methods are especially good when you have no project tempo to begin with and no transients you want manipulated. The math behind it is the same as audiosnap, but they don't use the UI of audiosnap.
