Timestamp
I'm stumped..what does one have to do to get Sonar X1 to properly timestamp each audio clip as it's being recorded and written to the disk? My friend had a crash, hadn't saved in 90 minutes, but when we brought the clips back in from his audio directory, they would NOT properly 'revert to original timestamp' as one would expect. Any help GREATLY appreciated! Thanks, Rico

When importing audio files into Sonar, sonar will make a copy of each file, when selected to do so in the preference menu.
Tell your "friend" to make "S" a keybind to save and then press "S" every minute or after each major change. 90 minutes without saving is playing with the devil

Turn on AUTOSAVE! You can't always rely on your memory to save.

You can't always rely on your memory to save. I rely completely on instinct. I don't have to think about frrequently pressing Crtl+S, it just happens. But back to the OP... do regular wave files have a time stamp? I thought that was specific to Broadcast waves...

I agree that not saving for 90 minutes is ludicrous. Back to the point: I assumed that Sonar saved ALL recorded clips as timestamped broadcast waves. Am I wrong? Why in the world would it NOT do that? Rico

Always, always always always save after any edits you don't want to risk losing.
There is a SAVE in the menu and I think an icon at the top of the tool bar..... a simple click every few minutes saves lots of trouble.
You will have to drag the clips to where they are supposed to be most likely if they didn't go there to start.
