I have heard it claimed that this one is better/more authentic than Arturia's 2600. I have also read reports of issues in Sonar. Anyone care to comment?

it's also part of the sonnivox premier bundle , that I bought.. the parent company also owns "air tech"

so you might get a decent price for the whole bundle. if you wait a while. it's rather an old plugin anyway, sure they say 80% .. but it's not much more elsewhere PB have it on it's own for £60.95

I got a upgrade offer from PB, ended up being £60 for the whole range of their products, can't recall what I owned to get it , but had to be 1 item.

I noticed that it's $99 direct from Sonivox when I was looking for a demo. I think I will pass, it does not really fill any holes in my collection of synths.

I picked up TimewARP 2600 as part of the Sonivox Premier Collection.  Got a cheap upgrade to the bundle after picking up Sonivox Orchestral Strings for $1.

According to the designer of the original ARP 2600, he felt this was the most authentic emulation. "This is the only ARP 2600 emulation product endorsed by its creator, Alan R. Pearlman." And you get the patch book with the original factory patches.  This is a very cool synth, with patch cords that you can drag and drop.

That said, the developer Wayoutware was acquired by Sonivox, who so far has demonstrated no ability to update the program.  It works fine, but when I contacted Sonivox tech support with a question, they closed the ticket as soon as they saw I was running Windows 10.  They claimed it was not supported on my OS, which had been mainstream for over a year!  The Sonivox TimewARP 2600 site states compatibility with Windows 7, XP, and Vista.

So, if you can get a good deal, it is worth picking up.  But paying full price for something that may not be updated, that is something to consider.  But I am glad that I have it.

I also picked it up on the Sonivox Premier Collection after buying Orchestral Strings package.  The bummer is that TimewARP 2600 will not run on my version of Win 10 Pro.  It just goes into a start up loop and will not load.  So based on my experience with it buyer beware.

Ignore the above. I did finally get it to authorize.  It will not authorize in Sonar but I did authorize it in Band-in-a-Box!  Go figure!

The reason people say the vinyl sounds better is because the music was better.

I'm running it fine on Win 10 Pro 1607 (Anniversary).  Just curious, what version are you on?

I forgot to mention, I could not activate it in Sonar.  Had to use Reaper to complete the activation.  Then it runs in Sonar once activated.

Thanx so much for this info!  I did get it activated with Band-in-a-Box.  I would have never figured this out by myself as I thought that Win 10 was the problem.  I now have to contact Wayout to see if I can use it off-line as of now I have to be on line to get it started.  My music computer is off-line.

Glad to hear you got it working!  I have no trouble using it with my network adapter disabled.  Once activated, should not be a problem using it offline.
