About the delay... Funny how time alters memory...
Dusted off my ancient DX delay and ran it thru the ropes years later. Not the same somehow.
Was about $70 I think and a top end echo unit compared to what was available without spending much more. Back then in prehistoric times, delay plugs were mostly mono and without tonal control over the delay. Timeworks came out with an affordable stereo delay with independent right and left channels. Had an overly severe hi shelf cuttoff per channel to dull out the echo.
Sweet memories, but no pan per channel, no eq control other than the all or nothing tone knob. No modulation of the echo. Big event of the time, but have to go with Nigel on this one. If you can't find it, you're not missing anything that can't be gotten better for free.
Did an audition with the PSP macho delay as only one reference and there is no comparrison. Makes the dx plugin sound lifeless and one dimensional. Not that the Timeworks dx plug is bad, just that one can get better results freeware via vst than spending $70 like we did back then.
Better to go freeware or spend the $70 on Sigmund.
