I think you should consider taking the guitars out like you did on your last song.

If your 17 year old says that she would listen to it that is a huge compliment!..

but now that I think of it........I like it too!
    (which ain't saying much)......

That slide ALMOST reminds me of either a steel guitar or hawiian slack gtr....

either way please take that as a compliment....cause that is the way I mean it!

    Robby... really?

Thanks James.... sometimes simple is best.

    Janet.... yeah....

Cliff.... no slide in that... just the acoustic strumming, and the SG played mellow and light, and clean..... I did bend a string in one place...

    This was really well done.

I'd experiment with bringing the acoustic down a bit ..add more pan and lowering the treble and presence range just a bit on a one side...this should really give it a nice wide and still present feel without distracting from the leads

I liked it.  The lead has a Ventures feel/sound (if you recall hearing their music), and there ain't nothing wrong about that IMHO.

If anything, I would eq the strum guitar just a bit to get a more pronounced bass and, as a benefit, help enforce the tempo.

    Good luck.

Thalwig... I have remixed this several times. The latest mix is not up on SC.... it's actually harder I think to mix 2 guitars like this than to mix a full band. What is the perfect balance that the producer is looking for..... and did I hit it?

    Jimmy.... No. Not double tracked.

Randy... no it is not BB.... BB sounds good but nothing like this.

    Hi Herb,

    Nice song.

Great, great sound on the electric...

It's tough to get a clean sound that can carry a song while not playing a lot of notes...

You've definitely found that tone, though

Nice clean sound, and a song I could just sit by the fire, drink a glass of wine, and just feel good. The tune was lost at times. I do like your guitar sound, nice and clair.

I like this - very relaxing but engaging at the same time. I really love the harmony that comes in.
It reminded me of Pink Floyd in a couple of spots. Great playing too.
Perhaps ends a little too sharply (which is a compliment as well as a crit!)

    Hey Herb,
You've got lots of folks telling you this is fabulous, and it does sound pretty good, but I'll give a slightly different opinion.
The acoustic guitars don't sound like they were recorded for this song.
To me, it sounds like samples are being triggered.
There are some tell tale signs, but obviously they aren't apparent to most listeners.
Hopefully that won't matter for your purposes.
If this is for a pitch I'd be interested in knowing if it makes it through.

I thought the acoustic was a loop too...but I still thought it was pretty good. All depends on what you're going for I guess. I thought lead was very tasteful.
