    1) True friendly name support to inputs and outputs that allows friendly names for mono sources and outputs.  Even if this requires a tool like the Plugin Manager to achieve or manual entry into an INI file.

    2) Display of WYSIWYG thumbnail images of Track Icons in the Browser View.

2a) Drag and Drop of track icons on to Tracks and busses in the Console View.

    3) A faster way of selecting clip ranges in track layers when comping and having them show up as the front layer when the track layers are hidden again.

    4) Better MCU support that allows more access to the ProChannel strip.

    Talent VST
I heard rumors they where working hard to get this plugin working, but at the end failed...

It seems -whatever they tried- they just could not get the EGO slider within acceptable ranges....

    Too bad...

No "talent VST" in the next release? Perhaps we could settle for "MeTooFX". Here's how it works: whenever anyone ever creates an original effect and releases it into the popular media, say a new hit song, just drop a sample of it into "MeTooFX", which then analyses the effect and produces a suitable virtual algorithm for the MeTooFX Vst, exposing sliders to adjust relevant parameters, including the "more original" parameter. Then apply it to your own tracks, and make it your own. Maximize your creativity by mixing effects from multiple original creators into a single super effect. Voila, varispeed plus vocoder convolved with reverse reverb! Be even more original by clicking the "Ignore Overuse" button!

Give me dropoutless audio engine, metronome on/off buttons during playback & recording, CD burner with ISRC codes support, updating recent files straight after project open instead of when closing SONAR (so that they update even if SONAR crashes) and I will be happy for the next 12 months.

I've had second thoughts......... I'd like X2 to be good at recording something other than Motown.........

......oh and bring me some talent.....

..........and I full expect someone to be demand that it be re-written to do something that it can already do, probably before the first hot patch is released........

I'll add more as I think of them..........

I have a list but it is made up mostly of small bugs, annoyances, or features that are not implemented as well or robustly as possible.  No major missing features or functions EXCEPT integration of Melodyne—but that is only important to me because Sonar crashes a lot with VST plug-ins, including Melodyne.  Since it also crashes with V-Vocal, I am not sure integration of Melodyne would n=be any better of different from a stability standpoint.
