Why don't y'all just ask the Bakers to rename this forum to "CJ's Place"? I'm really sick of that CJ-left-CJ-right-CJ-centre. Worse than the Reaper fanboys...

It's attitudes like that, that don't get recognition like this. Cjay has for some reason gotten a lot of crap from some users, and deserves a nice round of applause for being a dedicated and helpful Sonatarian. So to your jealousy.

I'm with Werner on this too. CJ is the only member I constantly have on block simply because his posts are too hard to read, what with the literacy issues, rudeness and, at times, outright hostility.

You may now return to your CJ Lovefest

I'm with Werner and Steve on this one, CJ is not my cup of tea, and he's on permanent block with me as well.

Cheers
Mike

Passion - Thank you for confirming my point of view, but:

where did you get the girl?? postal order??

Although this was certainly meant as a light-hearted slightly-rough-around-the-edges joke, it might come across as a personal attack in certain situations. This sort of stuff isn't going to take you anywhere around here. It's always better to just stick to the facts, they're speaking for themselves anyway.

This advice was brought to you by courtesy of the "Association of Dreamkeepers of the Known and Unknown Universe" (ADKUU) - Thanks for reading and enjoy the ride!

Yes Passion, I would also echo the request to stick to facts and not launch personal attacks. I know you've had a tough time with CJ's approach in some of your threads, but sinking to his level will never improve anything, or win you favourability among the other forum-folk. We really DO try to all get along, as best we can.

Sorry for taking this thread off topic btu I wanted to ask;

Hey stevejl:

Noticed in your signature you have CME UF 6. Have you been able to get all the controls to work in SONAR? I have the UF 8 and only been able to get some working. None of the Shifted Buttons or sliders.

Any tips.

No I haven't, but, because I have my mouse and keyboard right there, have not needed to use the transport buttons, and just use the sliders and knobs for volume or CS1

IT'S NOT FAIR!!! Some people get all the bashing. Some of the rest of us need some bashing too.

Hey, Mod Bod! Your "Body" isn't all that "Moddy" at all!!!

If you saw a pic that wasn't over ten years old, you'd definitely know that it wasn't "Moddy". But it's definitely "Boddddddddddyyyyyy". I'm one of the old men in the forum.

Ok, I'll put one on you.

I like CJ's posts. There are many times that I run up against a problem with SONAR and I ask myself, "What would CJay do in this situation?"

Then I cross that idea off the list right away and I'm one step closer to the solution.

Now, someone beat that one.

This thread is awesome, and makes me like CJ more and more as I read it.

It cracks me up to see people bash someone like CJ who at least TRIES to be open minded (musically) and helpful (even if he does hold the highest count for "RTFM" responses). Meanwhile the people who pop out of the woodwork bashing him don't register in my memory of ever posting a thing that was helpful. (actually, SteveJL has been helpful on occasion)

Grow some thick skin and get off the guy's back. He may be harsh at times, and have some serious issues with spelling/grammar, but at least at the end of the day he's on here continuously trying to answer questions to the best of his ability. In the end, I think this is what DEFINES the quality of a community like this one.

And CJ, get firefox. The built in spell checker will keep you from ever saying "Pathedic" again. It kinda makes my brain hurt. A lot.

Not to do acoustic music (dribble dribble durr). I do indrustral music. BFD is still tops when it comes to drums (acoustic I mean, Battery is top for non-acoustic). You guys are all guitar players (like every other person in the world) - but I'm a drummer. Sorry for not being a guitarist like everyone else on the planet Yet if I were a guitarist, then I'd prob be like the rest of you, and get EZ Drummer. However, this is not the case.

Isn't the whole idea of the Sonar forum for helping others and talking about recording gear and being the "obsessed with music gear weirdo's" we recordist and musicians are???? How did this place turn into somewhere to take your personal problems out on everybody else which has nothing to do with nothing. And for all you people who treat newbies like crap and act like they are stupid, remember something: you were there once too, you did not come out of your mother with flash drive full of recording facts instead of a brain. CJay - I listened to some of your work - impressive recordings indeed.

May I ask you what kind of processing you are using with the vocals? They seem to stand out in the mix.
