Today's NOT the day....

....even though I wanted it to be.

I was planning to pressure wash the house today.... well, actually continue to pressure wash the house. I started in to do this job a few days ago.  Actually back in the spring.... with the old pressure washer, that I lent to a friend who didn't bother to check the oil levels and just about ran it dry. Wore the rings down so there was very little compression....and the pump won't develop much in the way of pressure. So I was using it a few days ago when my wife saw me put gas in the tank and the tank has a crack and started leaking.... the pressure bypass doesn't work either so my wife deemed the machine to be very dangerous and bought me a new one.

So I decided to re-do the entire house with the new pressure washer..... what a job. The new machine rocks and has more than enough pressure to get things clean. With a 2 story house, I needed to either buy an extension nozzle or rent a lift. Extension was much less expensive and I'll have it for the future too. That thing will kick your posterior parts..... it comes with a sling harness to hold it's weight. Run it out the full 18', climb up on a ladder to add a few more feet to reach the peak of the roof, squeeze the trigger, and...............................hold on, cause it's like having a rocket engine on the end of that 18'boom..... better lean into it.....

ANYWAY..... I was planning to get out there and sweat and wrestle with that thing to try to finish the parts of the house not finished...... but it's been storming on and off this day..... lightning and thunder rolling in the distance and rain...... so, while I may have wanted this to be the day..... it has not been. Holding onto an aluminum pole stuck up in the air while wet didn't seem like the brightest thing to do while it's flashing lightening in the area.

maybe tomorrow.  I'll be glad to get that yearly job done and be able to store the PW until next year.

    Stay safe up there.

My wife bought a nice  Husqvarna Pressure washer a couple years ago and I de-molded our patio with it last week.

It was no where near as hard a job as you have... but it sure messed up my shoes. :-)

Hope you get it all done.  I tried the job this year and before I got half way around the spiders had already rebuilt and moved back in....it's a never ending job. I like the idea of a boom. I might borrow that idea from you.

Lowes has the universal extension wand for $135.... reaches from 6' to 18'.

I have learned to wear old clothes and farm boots. Because..... well, yesterday, things didn't go well. I started working and have my mp3 player to pass the time and keep the motor noise level tamed as well as the high level hiss from the spray subdued a bit..... the mp3 player is on it's last legs and was constantly cutting out on the left earbud..... bad connection in the player...seriously irritating since I was listening to the Eagles Long Road Out of Eden..... great album BTW...... besides being hot and humid..... I was working on the stepping stones and something distracted me and the spray slipped off the stepping stone and hit the soft dirt, which instantly became flying mud..... and it wrapped me up. glad to say I was wearing eye protection because the safety glasses had mud on them. Interestingly, the wall behind me had my silhouette where my body blocked the mud.... it was good for a laugh, but certainly not at the time. I was hot, sweaty, wet, covered in mud, my mp3 player was malfunctioning, and I had mud on my face and in my mouth...... It was then and there that I decided to call it quits......I stripped out of the muddy jeans and t-shirt, threw them in the washer, took a hot shower, and immediately followed that with a nap.

Oh the joys of home ownership..... and come to think of it, I still need to do the rental house too....... ugggggh.....
