I posted the below in another thread:- _______________________________________________ " ..... They sound AWESOME - low cpu loads - great GUI - their developer *knows* what he is doing. The mastering-grade brickwall limiter plug [ Barricade ] and the Gate plug are worth the money by themsleves. Plus - and this is just ridiculous - you also get the ReelBus Tape Sim plug also. We A/B'd it to both the Studer and Ampex UAD plugs [ which my studio colleague owns - not me - you probably know my view on UAD ] and it easily does %95 of what the UAD's do - only time you could tel them apart was when you really really really pushed the signal, the UAD's were much smoother and sonically nicer / warm / real - but that was *only* when you really pushed them really really really hard and hot - sonething most users will never do or want to do unless you are specifically going for that sound. For %99.99 of users in %99.99 of siuatiuons, this Amp Sim does everything the UAD's and the Slate does. This guy could jack up the price five-fold and they'd still be a total no-brainer !!! _______________________________________________ US$200 for VTM [ a great plug but you need an iLok ] ......... US$250 for UAD plus card/dongle cost [ also a great plug but its not native and its not native X64 ] ................... US$14 for TB ReelBus [ a great plug that is native and no iLok and is native X64 ] and which for all intents and purposes does everything the other two do ....... are you LISTENING UAD ( sorry I couldnt resist ) !!! Quite simply, Cakewalk should license this guy and use his suite for X2. Period. Tim

Was that "auto level makeup" button there in the previous version of Reelbus? I don't remember seeing it before. A great addition, if it's new. Makes up for the absence of an output level control and makes the plugin much easier to use and experiment with.

It's been requested to add an output level too as the makeup level is a tad louder.

Good to see it's still under active development. Now if he'd just add an oversampling option to deal with that aliasing problem...

I don't use it that often but for a few things it works really well. Good to see he's keeping this & his other plugs current though.

Carl/ Bit,
Though I am ancient enough to be around in days of tape and actually got to record on tape a couple of times in my early 20's, I have no idea what Tape Stop is???
I love Real Bus, however and it has really become a staple in my chain. Seams like I just upgraded....but very happy to down load again.

Just tried the tape stop feature...fun! Not sure I'll ever actually use it, but fun. I was more interested in the new quality modes, hoping the HQ mode might reduce aliasing. I'm not clear on whether "normal" is what's been newly-added, or if it's the "high quality" mode. Whichever it is, HQ does not appear to have any effect on aliasing. It's apparently not an oversampling option. "Normal" generates fewer upper-level harmonics, which accounts for its greater CPU efficiency. So if you're tempted to use "normal" for mixing and "HQ" for rendering, be aware that they won't sound the same.
