Mesh Has anyone bought Emotional Piano or any other instruments you can recommend? I bought Bamblong and they gave me Cathedral of Junk for free! Quite a deal for $17! These guys really know how to make provocative instruments of the highest quality. NI should'a hired them. Bamblong is 1.45GB so there's quite a lot in there. It's got a unique sound that's both percussive and melodic at the same time.

I've got several of their libraries...Laundronium is just amazing...and plan to get both Alien Drum and Cylindrum in the closeout. Looks like Troels is staying the corse in making interesting quirky "instruments" and Mike will be moving into SFX libraries for post pro. Would love to have the new boys choir but it's a bit pricey.

Epic Toms is a very popular "cinematic" library. Just listen to the demos and you'll see what I mean. Of the ones offered at discount (and as I said above) I really like Alien Drum and Cylindrum. And, again, I can highly recommend "Laundronium"...it is tres fab, check out the demos.

Picked up Epic Toms, Bamboo Stick Ensemble, and the Alien Drum (Hang Drum). All are VERY nice. I will give it some thought and likely pick up another set or two before the sale ends on 7/31. Have to admit, though, the FREE Cathedral of Junk is my favourite.

I want to get some of these samples but it says I need the full version of Kontakt. When I bought the Steven Slate EX packs 6 months ago, I had to use Kontakt......but how do I know if mine is the full one or free one? Thanks

For the Tonehammer stuff you'll need the full version of Kontakt. For the Steven Slate EX (which I also got before getting the full version of Kontakt), you'll need something like the Infinite Player (I got from Esoundz when I bought the Steven Slate drums). Then you can use Kontakt like you had the full version. When you bought the SS Ex, it should've said whether you needed the full version of Kontakt....

Thanks Mesh....I could have sworn I bought the full version....but if I go into the Kontakt Player, what differentiates the free from the full one? I think the only library I have on this is the SS Drums

The Kontakt Player is just that...a simple playback device. The full blown Kontakt is a state of the art sampler with a giant library and sfx package as well. You have the player. Sorry, ol pal.

I think I can get a crossgrade price of $279 for Kontakt 4.1 since Steven Slate Drums is a 3rd party software with NI It seems that Komplete is a better deal...anyone have this?

If you can swing it Komplete is an incredible deal. I really can't see why anyone would buy Kontakt by itself when for just a little more money you could have all those other great full blown programs and sound packs. My advice is go for Komplete.

When NI had their summer sale that ended in June, the crossgrade price for Kontakt was something like $129. I qualified for this crossgrade since I had the Steven Slate EX......I wish I could've afforded to get the whole Komplete deal, but Kontakt seems to be the most used product in this package and I'm very happy with the quality of instruments/sounds it has. Gaff, I would check out the rest of instruments (besides Kontakt) that come with Komplete and see if you can use them......if so, Olpal is right on the money....if not, then Kontakt has enough sounds to keep you busy for some time and not to mention all these 3rd party samples like Tonehammer. Good luck!
