Tonight on the Colbert Report

I think the spot we did about the army of cats is going to be on the Colbert Report tonight.

Just saying... in case any one may want see it.

I think I'll have to wait tot see it on the web... because we don't have a TV happening this season.

I hope they edited it so it seems funny.

best regards,
mike

I watch DS/CR every night (a day behind on DVR, to skip commercials).

I'll give my report on Wed morning.

I like my new DSL hookup... I rarely get to see what I work on.

I can still smell those cats.

    Dang!

Sorry, videos are not currently available in your country.

What do they mean, I have the latest Betamax and everything, are they implying we are behind the times?

Worse they could be saying stuff behind my back.

Where's my paper bag? I need to take some deep breaths.

    Mike,

I assume you were on the Lee interviews (the historian and the guy with the cats). Anything else in that segment?

I just did the Lee stuff... the producers just go step by step and often times try to find local service providers in their rolodex as they travel the country.

The guy at the bar with the Football jersey was actually the sharpest guy in that bar... at one point while we were interviewing the folks next to him he reached over and pulled my headphones off and whispered... "why are you all here making fun of country folks?" for a minute I thought I was about to have by butt kicked :-)

I'm just a technician so I try to stay out of that stuff. I get into a lot of wired situations and often times work both sides of a story. :-)

The funniest part that didn't make it to air is that the NYC producers kept asking the bar patorns how they felt about the *cat militia*... now remember Lee is named after Gen. Lee.... the locals looked at the producers all wide eyed and said "you know about our militia? Let me tell you partner, our militia is ready to kick some"... "bring it on".

Being a resident of the area for 28 years does not entitle me to be a local... but I understood the hilarious irony of a NYC producer joking about a militia with locals that actually have one.

It was funnier than the actual story that aired. :-)

    Another day another day....

    best regards,
    mike

Good job on that piece...i watch colbert and stewart everyday.
Interesting, and you seem to confirm, that people know they are being ridiculed, but they can't stop themselves from talking to the camera.

Seriously.... that guy in the bar... what was his name?  Gil?  Something like that.  He was priceless.  My husband's a Floridian (Tampa/Sarasota), so we recognized him straight-away.  Well.  Not HIM, exactly... but you know what I mean.  I loved every minute of that story.

And, ooooh.... such wonderful SOUND. :)
