EZ Drummer is a great for easy drum production, It has a bunch of expansions with a bunch of sounds available, Allthough I will reccomend getting the expansions because sooner or later you will get bored of the pop-rock drum kit. Buying all expansions does seem expenive tho :/ ...pst pst..pst pst.... (little whisper sound)

+1 on EZ Drummer. I upgraded to Superior Drummer and can use all the kits/EZ packs that came with EZ. I also got the Superior Drummer tutorial from Groove3 which really helped in learning all the details of the program.

If you do get EZ or any other drum software, don't forget to get this FREE 600 midi drum loops from http://www.groovemonkee.com/en/free-midi. Groove Monkee has some excellent midi drum loops and are in most styles.

Thanks for the link. Now that EZ is x64 Im right into it.

So, I am correct that you are suggesting stealing the expansions sets?

Or just break into a store and remove them off the shelf. Or maybe set up a roadblock and hold-up the delivery van. Or purchase them with a stolen credit card. The possibilities are endless.

I'm sure he was just joking. Anyway, I can't post on here all day. I've got a granny to rob of all her savings. That Ozone 5 doesn't come cheap.

The upgrade price is a bit too steep for me at the moment.
(Since Propellerhead did their "Pay What You Want" upgrade for Reason 6 I'm finding it hard to deal with "proper" upgrade prices!)

Apologies accepted.

If you are still having the problems with Superior Drummer x64, have you tried running SONAR in administrator mode?

Joke or no joke, so please guys no use in getting mad, it's not like you own or make the software. (coming from the guy THAT BUYS ALL HIS SOFTWARE)

When you suggest things like this, your own character becomes s u s p i c i o u s.

Even though we don't make the software, we as "paying customers" do make it possible for the developers to give us a price WE CAN ALL afford and they can continue (from our purchases) to develop better products for the future.

If you were the developer, and everyone got it for free by pirating, now how could you make any money to stay in business? Eventually, you'd have to shut down as: "millions are doing it" and you'd feel like the world is stabbing you in the back after all your hard work. My reply is not from being "mad", but rather to show you the reality of the consequences when you don't pay for software.

Peace to you my bortha!
Ben

Superior Drummer sounds 'raw' for want of a better expression. The likelihood is that you'll want to tweak it.

The Superior Drums work for me straight out of the box with no real tweaking...

The Avatar kits sit great in a mix and all of the other expansions are also excellent...

The MIDI grooves that Nir Z supplied are top shelf - as are ALL of the Toontrack grooves..

Evil Drums is the only SDX that sounds "raw" to me - but that's the way that Joe likes it...

The only SDX that I don't own is the Metal Foundry because I don't go there

I highly recommend the Superior Drums !

Just a reminder that the "Evil Drums" SDX is a Platinum Samples product and is only licensed by/to Toontracks.

There is a little processing done on the way in to the console but only in a way that would be a standard method of recording drums.

Just got ezDrummer and I am really impressed, what a great sound. After my drumming with Sonar SI Drum kit
that is really a blessing. Thanks guys for suggestions here.

Cool, Offnote - SI Drums can seem fine, but then when you have EZ to compare to - wow, what a difference, hmm? They both have natural sounding samples, but I guess EZ's have just been compressed and tweaked enough to sound meatier - plus, the controls available are superior. Glad you're happy! RB
