Matt I am very happy for you that you like the sonar colors. Though I'm not sure what that has to do with my top-3 requests of colors, colors, colors. Nevertheless, I will gratefully concede that you win the internets if you can just show me how to change the colors I've marked below as A, B, C:

Well, seems like I'm about to loose. Can't help you with B and C, but A is easy: Just click left of the expand folder sign (+) and choose your color. Sorry for bringing this thread so far OT. I will close the door after me

Why do people consider that since color options suit them, they suit everyone?

Wait don't leave! Does that work for you? I want to change the dark grey background of the entire track view. I would settle for changing them folder by folder but changing the color of the folder doesn't affect this for me...

I'm still here. Yes it works for me. But I need to do it folder by folder

Check "show strip colors" in the color preferences. That wil help

Oh yuck. Guess I can't win. I am happy (thank you!) because I finally can get my track background back to the light grey instead of dark grey... but because I colorized all my tracks now it looks like someone threw a bag of skittles at my screen. I guess I will have to decide which to live with. (I colorized the tracks because the tracks do not follow the order of 1,11,21... 2,12,22.... etc. If you copy or clone 10 tracks for example they are all the same color which is what I DON'T want. So I need to find a way around this, or the other thing, or go back to 8.5, or have Sonar update the color customization in X3e or whatever...)

rainbow Remember that you can use quick grouping when you need to change several tracks at once. Good luck

If you want all backgrounds to be the same, but not dark grey, then choose your color under track defaults or bus defaults

Well, I only have two and they potentially aren't small, particularly from a dev standpoint, but I think they'd be nice. 1. Fully customizable scrollable track sections. Here's what I mean: Right now there are three scrollable track sections, one for tracks, one for busses and one for mains. I really like this. Scrolling through busses without scrolling your tracks in CV is really great. What I'd like is the abiity to put any kind of track in any section, AND to be able to configure the number of sections. So by default it would work exactly as it currently does. But then perhaps you have a top and bottom snare mic that you'd like to send to a "snare" bus and then to the drums bus. You could put that snare bus right next to the tracks that feed it, but still have that snare bus feed a drum bus in the "bus" section of the mixer. Then, for example, you want to use ARC or some other "monitoring" effect. You could create a new section, put the ARC bus in it, bus the master track to it, but still not clutter up your existing "bus" section. Defaults could be set so that busses end up in one section by default and tracks in another (again, replicating existing behavior), but busses and tracks could be moved around freely. 2. Bus freeze. Remember back before we had a freeze function we had to bounce tracks? We still have to do that with busses if we want to free up their resources. It'd be really cool to be able to "freeze" a bus so that the audio that is routed to it gets bounced down on to the bus track, sources get archived and FX bypassed without creating a new track in the track view. Essentially it would "convert" the bus to an audio track that lived in the bus section and allow unfreeze just like track freeze does. Dean

I would like the ability for live looping (gapless audio engine a must) This is currently a hit and miss affair with sonars loop functions especially when you compare it to Ableton Live.
I would also like the ability to route an audio track into another audio track, not a buss! This is a big plus for sound design and also allows the ability to perform using one track and record another track, which means if I want to record all plugin/effects changes, I don't have to rely on sonars automation recording, it is frankly a pain in the bum, especially if I am live recording performances which utilise any inbuilt-onboard vst/effects.
Screenset management where by we can lay out out choice or choose a preset template as default, which will then be automatically activated no matter what project you open, old or new. Currently I have loads of projects which are quite old which I would love to rework/remix and it is a pain to have to keep going through and setting up the screensets for each song that wasn't recorded with screen set info in it (pre x1).

Two from me as wishes for the future:
1. Collapsible Console View - where you could use existing track folders to expand and show tracks or hide them like you can in the track view.
2. Being able to drag into the Buses some preferred configurations from a presaved file. You can do that with track templates if you drag in a track and its Bus gets brought in if it's not in your current file. It would be slick if you could start with an empty file and later decide to pull in a bunch of Buses and their effects and routings all with one call up of a saved file. I've seen a Groove 3 tutorial where that was something that appeared to be a feature in ProTools. I'm a committed Sonar Producer user, but I thought that would be slick as a feature.
Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

I would like the text on each of the MultiDock tabs to be shorter (or even editable). In most of my projects I have a screenset where PRV for each midi track is docked in the in the MultiDock. The text on each tab begins "Piano Roll - " followed by the name of the instrument. This takes up a lot of width and results in the need for horizontal scrolling when there are a lot of tabs. It would help if the text "Piano Roll" could be abbreviated to "PRV" or "PR". Worse still, if there is more than one instrument track in PRV, the tab text is always displayed as "Piano Roll - multiple tracks". I often have several of these and there is no way of distinguishing them. It would be useful if the tab text was editable and I could change it to "PRV brass" or whatever.

Matt What am I missing? A setting somewhere? Here's what mine looks like:

Check "show strip colors" in the color preferences. That wil help
Interesting note: When this is checked, a FOCUSed track is indicated by the track name background turning white. When it is Unchecked, or turned OFF, a FOCUSed track is indicated by turning lighter gray, like in X1 & X2. The name background still turns white tho.
