Touch Me - The Doorsie Brothers Feat. Daryl1968 & Psalmist35

Another "love" song for The Lovely Lady.

I want to thank my newest and funniest forum buddy Daryl1968 for his contribution on the harpsichord (and some vocal coaching too). As well, I am extremely pleased to say that Rich (Psalmist35) graced the project with his sax. Both deserve a round of applause (or apple sauce?).

Listen to it HERE on soundcloud.

For those wanting the particulars:

Rich - Sax solo
Daryl - Harpsichord
Horns = Kontakt Library Trumpet Section
Strings = Kirk Hunter Pop Rock Strings
Organ = Kontakt "Farfisa"
Bass = Bapu's Fender P-Bazz
Guitars = Line 6 JTV-69 Strat -> Amplitube3 & Les Paul -> Guitar Rig
Drums = EZDrummer Metal Machine -> Magnetic II
Master Bus = Slate VTM & FG-X

    sweet! can never go wrong w/ The Doors. love the intro; has a Deep Purple-ish feel. the horn section at 2:22 and subsequent exploration has shades of Charlie Mingus.  I enjoyed this immensely :-)

    Really good vocals Ed, this song really suits your voice. Good production and mix too. Sax cuts through beautifully when it hits, great stuff.

    Of your recent fare, this one seems best suited for your voice. I'd put some more verb on those horns (the synth ones) or maybe more tail? (we could all use more tail…) Or something, they seem like they could just sit better. It's nice that you record songs for your wife that she likes, I record songs for my ex that she hates... And for those about to report this post, that's "reverb tail". But nice try anyway.

    This should be rated X just for the gratuitous sax alone!

    Good stuff as usual!

    I thought the vox had some Beaglesk qualities... I'd like to hear a collab on the vox (duet) with Bapsi & Beags....  maybe down the road you 2 can slam one out ...

    Sax was out-freaking-standing.

    I concur with Daryl!  I seem to recall there being a P-Bass in there somewhere .  This was quite a production Bapu and I know the Misses must be real proud.  Thanks for letting me be a part of the production.

    Hey, this came out really great.  The vocals were much improved over the scratch tracks I heard, and really sounded very Morrison-like even.  Loved the sax solo.

    Great job all the way around guys.

    Well ....

    I thought the saxophone was the best part and the vox was the worst part

    The middle stuff was a B or maybe a B+  Thanks to Rich and Daryl

    I really like that Bapu used a fender P bass so that part was really cool

    I am not to happy that someone else didn't sing ...it could have been a great song

    Well I guess I should encourage him to keep trying to sing... But ..... It doesn't seem to have gotton better in a long time

    At least it's not about me this time

    One of the doors better songs.   Well produced but it sounded like maybe it would be easier to sing a step or two higher.

    Just got a message from Bapu. He liked my review of this doors cover. He went on and on about how much he liked it for about 2 minutes on my voice mail.

    He also mentioned he was impressed with my testicle size...but I swear up and down in the Lords name....I have never shown him my testicles not even when we were hanging out at Buddy Guys Lengends and Bapu was telling everyone around me I had AIDS and I was having sneezing fits.....he did that for me ....just so I could get a better view of the stage .

    Not even then.

    Hey, Ed,

    You, Daryl and Rich really did a killer job on this Door's classic!

    All the instrumentation sounds really good and right on the money, Daryl's keys sound excellent, your vocals sound great, and Rich's sax solo is pure dynamite.

    This was actually the sixth song that I ever sang in my life, way back when, in my first band when I was in seventh grade.  It really brings back some good memories for me!

    Really nice work, guys!

    Great job! Not one of my favorite tunes but you did the ol' Lizard King proud!

    The mix/production sounds fine to me. Excellent performances from all involved.

    I wrote a song just for Rich's voice and he did a great job.  It's on our soundclick page "Into the Son".  This is a really nice jam.  The music is tight and true to the song.  Great job, guys!  I mean, great job Doorsies!
