Touch Screen, StudioWare

On a whim, I picked up a cheap touch screen from eBay (a 17" Planar PT1745R). I had fantasies of setting up my Console View on it and mixing... Unfortunately it isn't exactly an iPad :) I misunderstood the technology and the screen I got is not multi-touch, and doesn't respond very well. The faders in the console view respond very unevenly. However, it seems that the sliders from StudioWare panels actually respond very well to my screen, so I thought maybe I could do something with that...

The way StudioWare panels load is pretty frustrating:
  • They load in non-floating windows BEHIND the Track View
  • They don't remember their positions
  • They don't re-open when the project is closed/opened
Does anyone have any workarounds they can suggest? I know StudioWare panels are kind of abandonware at this point, which is too bad.

Thanks!
