[Track] Ella Sleeping

I have recently been working on a couple of tracks at the same time. I think I am finished with them at this point and ready for some feedback. The first one is in more classical style.

Ella Sleeping

I guess I will make two different threads because the songs are pretty different. Any feedback is appreciated!

i was worried a bit that it would slip into the sugary sweet world, but it didn't
by standing by its clarity and very clean melodic line

    very nicely done

Nice, anonyomous. What wrench said, it didn't get too sappy, just close enough.

Yeah, I was a little worried about it being too "nice" as well. In my mind I was visualizing a small ensemble doing chamber music. I was working on this one at the same time as some other pieces that are a little darker, so I guess it is a balance.

After this I think I am ready for something with drums again! Thanks for the kind comments.

Man your on a roll! Really like this one too. Made think a little of Aaron Copeland's work. Was that you on the piano and what VST's were you using? Once again very very nice work here.

I agree, this is a really nice piece. I like how although the underlying structure is the same measure after measure, the overlaid melody changes enough to make it interesting, to the extent that ambient music should be. I think the title suits the purpose very well also, as it's not sappy, as mentioned by the others- it just has a really nice serene feel to it.

May I ask if you had an intended use for this, or was it just made to make it?

Hi Max and diffracted, thanks so much for the kind comments.

Yes, that was me on the piano. I am using Dimension Pro and Rapture for almost everthing. The piano was one of the Alien Pianos with some small adjustments. In parts, I layered the piano with a harp which gave it a little different attack and tone.

I was going for something that was nice and had a kind of beauty, but I really want to avoid ever being sappy. As far as a use for it, it is really just an idea that I am working on at the moment...kind of a story or perhaps a film. The songs should all relate to one another in some way. I am using the same basic types of instruments and trying to come up with 8 songs or so that work together but are different enough to be interesting. I don't know if I will make it or not, but I actually have several finished and a other ideas in progress.

Anyway, thanks for listening and taking the time to comment!

    I like this one too!
I asked if you played the piano on the other track but it got answered in this one, again nice work all around and you def. are hitting the mark for the filmscore style you want which happens to be some of my fav. tracks!

Another great piece of music, you're firing on all cylinders lately Ramon. The piano playing is very evocitive and the strings add real atmosphere. Great stuff.
