[Track] Showroom Model (Kraftwerk Mix)

Hey all....

This is a track i did a few months ago - just gave it a 'polish' ... very Krafwerk-style. It didn't take too long, infact, the sound selections took the longest.

Just a bit of fun really, but comments are always appreciated!

Nice retro piece, it reminds me of ROMANELLI. Anybody remember him from the 80's!

    Paul,

spot on, tho I'm not all that familiar with Krafwerk. More of a tangerine dream man, myself. Still, very teutonic - must be all the time you put into the sound selection.

And very upbeat without getting overly syrupy.

Nice work, as you always seem to do.

    fun listen.

Hi, Prevalence! Nice track, indeed. Early 80s feel to it. I thought the kick had a bit too much energy at first, but then it evened out. Good transition between slow and fast parts. What synth did you use? Cheers!

Thanks all...... your feedback is much appreciated!

To be honest I didn't spend half as much time on this one as i do with my more modern(ish) stuff. I guess it must come naturally coz of my age

The main synth lead is Albino 3 and the stringy sound is Atmosphere. Sylenth was used for the other sounds, and Stylus RMX for drums (although the kick is Rapture )

Nice one, Paul! It's definitely got the Kraftwerk vibe going. I like the production on this - it's got a cool old-skool feel with a more modern production. I really like the change-up at 1:12 and the arp/pad combination at 3:40 is killer!

No criticisms here - this is one of my favorite tracks of yours.

I hear what you're saying about the age thing. I get comments like "it's got an 80s feel to it" all the time. I don't hear it in my music, but younger people seem to have this uncanny ability to hear it...

Thanks Cryophonic! Glad you like it...... amidst my attemps at some dancey/trancey stuff i still get the urge to produce some good old electro somtimes

It's true what you say about younger people... so at least with a track like this i've firmly got the upper hand when they say 'Kraftwerk.....??'

I really like this work ....It is smooth and it flows and all the ideas seem to fit together perfect........I keep trying to do tracks like this and they always seem to go off course or in other directions with out me knowing it and then when I get a final composition I wake up to find that I am no where I wanted to be......but I do like this one......

This song was very inspiring to me. It made me want to go to try to do something similr right away. I am not sure if I could but I love the sound, Very 80s. I think my music has an 80s sound so I guess I must like that sound. You know it is sad, I never really listened to kraftwerk, earlier today I place a bid on a rare cd of theirs on Ebay though. If this is like Kraftwerk I can see me really liking them. did you use Firebird in this? some of the synth sounds sound like something that synth makes, I think Firebird is perfect for this sound.

Hi ATS......... long time no hear....... welcome back

Your feedback is appeciated, as always...... the main lead on this is Albino, closely followed by Atmosphere and Sylenth.

Kraftwerk are simply legendary. I'm sure you will love them! I think they did a cd called 'The Mix'. Awsome!

    hi paul,

You definitely nailed the kraftwerk vibe. The sounds are right there. classic analog goodness all the way. Your arrangement is also spot on.

    This was a fun listen.

I wonder how many of us have attempted, on at least one occassion, to replicate the Kraftwerk sound? I'm certainly guilty for more than one count. As Kraftwerkian band "Komputer" could testify, nailing the Kraftwerk sound (as they did) required months of song analysis and experimentation. Their album "The World of Tomorrow" is a brilliant labour of love (which was followed up, oddly, by the most rank piece of non-Kraftwerkian garbage I've had the unfortune to hear). Anyway, back to your track: this was a fun little meaty track in the style of Kraftwerk, but there was no mistaking the Prevalence spine. You've rigged up the most appropriate sounds and I quite enjoyed how everything went together. It's not Neon Lights, but then this is a new (green) era.

Do you have an album out yet?
