Track Stopping after Exporting to WAV/MP3 File

Can someone lead me to the fix for making my mixed down project stop when the audio stops.  I exported a 5:08 (min:sec) track to a file, and it continues to run for almost 6 minutes.  Any ideas how make this track stop when the audio ends?  I have the TRACK OPTIONS, "stop at Project end" selected.  I'm running SONAR X1 Producer.  Thanks,

Stevie, you're experiencing a pet peeve problem with many Sonar users.  The problem is that you have data in your project beyond the length of the song, somewhere around the 6 minute mark.  It's a stray node on an envelope probably.   So even though you have "stop at project end" selected, you get these results because the program thinks the song ends at 6:00.

The solution isn't just a work-around - it's really the better way to export--You simply choose in the time-line what part of the project you want to export.  There will be other situations where you need to export just parts of a song, so now you'll know how to do it:

--Zoom way out so you can see the whole song on one screen

--Select all the tracks.  One method is to double click the header of any track so that all tracks are highlighted.

--Go to the real end of the song in the time-line.  Left click and hold while you sweep through from the ending to the start of the song.

--Do the export - Sonar only exports what's selected in the time-line, otherwise it'll pick up on any stray data and export everything it can find in a project.

    That'll do ya.

    rbowser,

Your are correct, and thank you very much.  I had forgotten how to do this edit.  What I actually did was, I expanded the track at the end, switched the view to automation-volume, and deleted the nodes that were left in the track, (and were not needed).  When I selected the track the way you suggested the EXPORT, AUDIO function worked great.

Thanks again for taking the time to remind me of the feature, I just upgraded recently from Sonar 3.0.  So, you can figure out how long it's been since I worked with Sonar.  I've been out gigging/performing, of which I had much rather be doing.
