[Track] Sweet Surrender

Hi all,

Am just starting to get some major creativity out of my P5/Sonar Combo. I would appreciate any feedback on this baby

Really nice mix. I like the vocal layers you did at the beginning of your choruses and the string patch on the bridge was kind of a pleasant suprise. I also loved the guitar work both rhythm and lead. Tasty playing.

    On first impressions:
-The vocals in the beginning seem alittle odd..hitting some strange low notes
-Not alot of instruments or variation in the beginning parts
-The bridge (right before the solo, with the strings) might want to be longer, or play the idea again in another part of the song
-Distorted drums are interesting..i like em

    good stuff overall tho!

I felt like you had parts A & B down, but that you needed a part C to complete it. More complete arrangement, in other words. Overall well done, evenly good, nothing truly stands out as being badly constructed, but nothing really stands out as being particularly "special", either. Deserves to be on the album, as one of the "other" songs, but isn't the hit that gets the album noticed.

    Instruments / Sounds / Effects: 7
Arrangement / Patterns / Notes: 7 (good, but no real hook - the "C" part)
Vocals: 7 (well sung, not bad, but didn't grab me by the b***s)
Mixing / Mastering / Production: 7.5 (could be slightly more even, but well done, no biggie)
    [5 fair, 7 good, 8 great, 10 floyd]

To think, at one time P5 was a $429 MSRP app.

I think that technology and music has always been together, and I think music is science, anyway. - Vangelis

Awesome feedback so far! Really appreciate it coming from you blokes. Oroboros - I too think that this one will be a filler, although hopefully an interesting one.

    Cheers
