Track View Track Name box non extendable

I noticed when trying to read track names, I simply cannot extend the track name box in the track view. If I have, for example, numerous amounts of tracks listed in the track view and I would like to extend the track name boxes longer, so I can read them all properly to find tracks easier, no matter how far I click on the box line and drag out the box it has this limit and stops, therefore all I can do for longer track names is to hover the mouse pointer over the track name to find out what it's called. I find this quite tedious especially if I have a numerous amount of tracks with the same beginning (but long) name and then ends slightly different. I never used to have this problem with previous versions of Sonar I have owned or used in other studios.

Is this a bug, or perhaps a .ini configuration to set the box to make it longer when dragged or is it just a forgetful development error that could be fixed in the future?

I hope what I've written makes sense.

I just typed in the whole alphabet into mine and it only cuts off the y and the z. If I slide it bigger the mute buttons and stuff move down a row.

Slide the track pane over and then try.

Yep tried sliding over the track pane to the other end and still the same problem.

''91 - 2 1 Bar Doubles Tom Fill Looper''
reads like.....

''91 - 2 1 Bar Doubles Tom Fil''
................................................ and is as far as it will go in this name length example. Some of my files have longer names as well.

I need it longer than this like the old Sonars used to have it. That was better by far regards to this, especially as I was used to this.

By the way, I'm not talking about how long and far I can type characters. It's just that I can't view the whole length of what the track name is.

Thanks for an example of what you are entering - makes it really easy to test on our systems :)
I'm getting the same results with that entry.

I wouldn't call this a bug - I think CW figured they provided enough space for names. Why don't you fill out a feature request over at http://www.cakewalk.com/support/contact/featurerequest.aspx to ask them to make this box allow more "visible" characters. Although this doesn't apply to me (I keep my names shorter) I'll fill out the request as well since I may need more room myself some day. The more requests they get, the more likely they will do it.

Don't fix it in the mix ... Fix it in the take!

Yeah I'll do that, thanks for noting this.

I suppose there is no .ini file code to edit the box length???

Yes, this was implemented much better in 8.5 & previous.

The problem I get is when inserting a vsti such as BFD2.

The individual track names are enormously long, and I literally have to go round the kit, hitting each piece to find out which track it triggers!

Progress?

X1c is now released but Sonar developers didn't bother to fix this problem. Probably didn't even read my message I sent to the dedicated Sonar developers feature request.

Is the programming that difficult to fix this annoyance?

Sonar X1 was suppose to speed up my work flow, not slow it down.
