Track View and PRV Track Pane - question

Is it still possible to have my midi tracks hidden in the Track View but still have them visible and selectable in the PRV Track pane?

I have looked thru the on-line documentation and there is a blurb that says:

'Note: Track selection in the Track view and Track pane are independent. Selecting tracks in the Track pane does not select any data, it only determines which tracks show data in the editing view.'

My old simple mind finds this a little confusing so hoping someone can help clear this up for me.

My end goal is to be able to hide all midi tracks in the Track view to gain real estate while still being able to view/select/edit multiple midi tracks in the PRV /Track pane.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
Rick Tucker

Are you still wanting the audio track fo the midi to show in track view?

That statement is only telling you about what happens when you double click a given track.

As far as I can tell if you don't want to see any track you can hide it using the track manager. I don't like hiding tracks as then I'll forget I did this and wonder where it went?
What I do is group all tracks I don't care about at the bottom and minimise their size.  They are mostly off screen this way and the important tracks are at the top.

@kamikaze - Yes, the audio tracks associated with the midi tracks is all I would like to view in Track view. This allows for automation etc. without the clutter of the midi tracks.

@Cactus Music - Yes, I can/do hide the midi tracks in Track View, using the track manager, but then they are no longer visible to the PRV/ Track Pane. I could do this before the Track Picker was removed from the PRV view.

Thanks for the replies guys. Hopefully, there is still a way to continue to work the way my projects were setup prior to the PRV change. There are some Great additions to the new updates and I would hate to miss out by having to roll back and stay there...

Maybe I'll get lucky and someone will chime in and say 'Sure you can do that Rick, just do this ...'  :)

Kind regards,
Rick

I'm with Rick Tucker on this.
I have developed plenty of work flow methods that require selective and different views in TV vs PRV.

This is the new deal breaker for me.
Staying with 2017.01 unless this is changed.

Thanks for reporting this Rick!
